T French & Son (Earthwork) Ltd

Growth & Flexibility

Due to the expansion of the opencast mines the decision was made to separate the company and put the plant under Earthwork  - to deal exclusively with opencast's and other plant hire needs.

Trust In Quality

Volvo A35 & A40ís are two of the most reliable machines on the market and we have a squad of them ready for any load. Large volumes can be hauled and often our work areas have no roads, but this is no major task to these trucks. We have specially adapted some of our trucks to carry a larger capacity. The fleet of articulated haulers has grown from trucks, shovels and now long reaches ready for any job they may be sent to.

Increasing Productivity

Carrying a light material such as disposed ash is light work to these machines, wet compacted ash is cleared away, loaded and then dumped off for screening or sale. Most of the haulers can be found in Scottish open cast mines and with some slight modification the capacity of hauled material can be increased with no distress to the vehicle which increases productivity for the customer.

The trucks can have sealed doors to assist with pond cleaning, slurry work or no back doors. Our workshop team are there to provide routine maintenance and any adjustments that may be needed to suit the specific task.

Road Digs, Ground Clearances, Hard Mines & Quarries

In addition to the Volvo fleet, Earthwork operates two Caterpillars particularly suited to road digs, ground clearances or hard mines and quarries. We have a 325 excavator coal shovel and back actor also a 345 LME  which both have excellent working records, there is also a Volvo EC360 excavator. They all have excellent control of the bucketís to adapt to the needs of the dig. Operators are highly skilled and trained to the highest standards.
